One of the twentieth century's greatest exponents of the classical ballet repertoire, the dramatic lyrical ballerina Natalia Makarova has also enjoyed great success as a producer. Her staging of Swan Lake is based on the original choreography of Petipa and Ivanov, with a choreographic contribution from the late Sir Frederick Ashton. Evelyn Hart and Peter Schaufuss dance the leading roles in this production.
